On December 4, 2004, Leadership Through Athletics (LTA) opened its doors to an exciting, new youth center located in an economically depressed area of Baltimore (Lansdowne). This center is quickly becoming a major positive influence on the area as we see 1,000 - 2,000 people per week with most being kids ages 4 and 18.
The founders, Michael and Patrick Grace grew up in Lansdowne and understand the issues facing this area. They wanted a way to get kids off the street and away from dangers by providing them with strong male mentors, a safe place to expend their energy and an environment that encourages them to learn, grow and lead.
Currently, we are working with the Lansdowne Improvement Association and other community groups to revive this area of Baltimore. Leadership Through Athletics will attract new people regularly into the community that in return will energize the economic development of the local restaurants, gas stations and retail stores.
Please learn more about our mission, philosophies and values. You don't have to be involved or even interested in sports to understand the tremendous ideals and characteristics we are teaching the next generation, as they will become the future leaders of our communities.
