In a nonprofit organization such as Leadership Through Athletics, there are countless opportunities to get involved. LTA constantly recruits and trains volunteers of all ages to conduct activities that best suite your interests. LTA needs people that are handy with tools and cleaning equipment to help fix and maintain the 20,000+ square foot youth center. We need coaches and organizers to help with the growing leagues and tournaments occurring at Leadership Gym. We also need people that are willing to volunteer to help keep score for games and run the score clocks.
More importantly, we need people to come to our facility to be mentors for some of the youth that participate at LTA. We need people who genuinely care about today's youth, and are willing to help us guide them along to becoming our next generation of community leaders. One person can make a difference!
To volunteer, contact Dawn Wade at dwade@leadershipthroughathletics.org..
If you do not have the time to volunteer at LTA but would still like to help further our mission, we accept donations of cash, check, securities and gifts-in-kind. We are in need of funds to expand our current programs, such as the Education Center, and develop new programs to enhance LTA.
As being a privately funded nonprofit, we need the help of businesses, foundations and the community to keep the doors open to Leadership Gym. If you are interested in contributing financially, you may send it by mail or click here to do it safely online. Please contact the Harbinson Group at 410-480-3185 for more information about sponsorship opportunities.
All gifts, no matter of size, are appreciated and needed!
Community Service Hours
Leadership Through Athletics offers many opportunities for kids to volunteer and receive their community service hours for graduation. All volunteer hours will be supervised by a LTA employee.
If you are in need of service hours for school or want a place to better yourself, Leadership Gym is the place to come. Our volunteers do everything from vacuuming a carpet to keeping score for basketball games. After you have volunteered and learned a skill like keeping the scoreboard or keeping the statistics during a game, you may qualify for some paid positions once your service hours are completed.
To register to perform your service hours at Leadership Gym or to ask questions concerning this program, contact Dawn Wade at (410) 737-2117 or dwade@leadershipthroughathletics.org.
